Date Project Design 1

My first design for The Date Project’s 2024 competition to create date tin designs for their 2025 date tins. It features the Qibli  Mosque, the main congregational mosque  in the Al Aqsa compund and an important symbol of Palestine.  The full moon signifies Eid, an end to Ramadan. I illustrated olive branches as they are synonymous with Palestinian identity and continuity on the land; they’re tough, grow in harsh contortions and are deeply rooted in the land. On the metal tin, a shiny blue gradient would contrast nicely with the mosque in a shiny gold.
